Keyword Submitting – Targeted Keywords Will Do It

Keyword Submitting – Targeted Keywords Will Do It

Author: Clair Bennet

For article marketing there are basically two steps, find a keyword, submit after writing the article. Finding the keywords is the real challenge. You want to focus on keywords that have a decent number of monthly searches but not too much competition.

Hint, stay away from the keywords that have hundreds of thousands of monthly searches. These keywords will be guaranteed to have high competition ( if they don’t it means that the niche they are in isn’t a profitable niche and you wouldn’t want to be in that niche anyway).

You’ll notice that I glazed over the whole writing of the article. Why? Because, as long as you are writing your article around a certain keyword phrase, make sure that the spelling and grammar are acceptable and offer some valuable information, the writing will pretty much take care of itself. Having a keyword phrase that you are writing your article around is like having a blue print, it’s pretty easy to follow.

If you don’t want to write, hire someone to do it for you. Make sure that you don’t overpay, though. Most of the time a well written, 500 word article shouldn’t cost you more than $5 -$10. If your article is on a highly technical subject where your writer has to do a lot of research it will cost more, but for fairly general articles that is a good rule of thumb.

Keyword research really is the first step to having a money making article. If you don’t target the right keywords your article either won’t get a very good ranking in the search engines or it won’t have enough searches monthly to make it profitable. Either way, it’s not good.

There is kind of an art to finding the right balance between a decent number of monthly searches and not a lot of competition. Generally I advise people to shoot for at least 1,500 searches a month and competition of less than 20,000. These numbers aren’t written in stone and it can vary from one niche to another. Find the parameters that work best for your niche, but when you’re just starting out, these guidelines are a good place to start.

OK, now that you’ve got your keywords picked out and your article written, it’s time to submit it. Many people get freaked out at this point. They feel like they’ll get a lot of rejection letters and that their article won’t get published. Actually, if you write a well written, informative article and you follow all the terms of service requirements, your article will get published.

There are probably hundreds of online article directories where you can submit your original article to for publication. One of the most highly regarded is EzineArticles.com. This directory is almost always at the top of everyone’s list when it comes to quality article directories. For article marketing, the strength of the article directory is very important since you’ll basically be riding on that reputation.

So, even though someone will have to actually write an article, there are still two basic steps to online article marketing, finding a good keyword, submit to your writer or you write the article. Do it right and you’ll be amazed at the results you can get.

Search Engine Optimization Explained and Made Easy

Search Engine Optimization Explained and Made Easy

Author: Luke Riley

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves choosing the most appropriate targeted keywords and phrases that relate to your website or blog. The entire goal of this process is to ensure that your page(s) rank highly in search engines. This means that when someone searches for the keywords or phrases that you have targeted, the search engine shows your site on top. At a minimum you want your page to show on the first page of any search, especially Google. The other popular search engines are Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Ask Jeeves.

SEO is the art of fine tuning the content and text of your website along with the HTML and Meta tags. Your Website’s title and description should focus on the keywords or phrase that you are targeting. Do not try to target too many words or phrases, keep it simple and targeted. Use free keyword tools to find the most relevant and widely search words and phrases that are relevant to your website.

Search engines keep ranking algorithms secret, as they need to ensure that spam pages and site do not clog their results. This means a website with only the one word or phrase listed 1000 times will not get ranked. Hundreds of different factors or used when search engines are ranking the pages and each one is different. This difference is so great that a particular page may rank number 1 on Google but 100 on Yahoo. It is important also to know that each search engine may change it’s methods regularly to ensure that only the most relevant pages are displayed.

You do no need to submit your sites to search engines – they automatically trawl the internet looking for the most relevant sites to list.

Link building and generating backlinks is a great way to get ranked quickly. A quick way to do this is to establish a link exchange with a high page rank site where you display their link on your site and they display your link on their site. One link from a high page rank website can get the search engines to visit your site and begin to spider its contents. This process can take up to a couple of weeks or even sometimes as quick as a couple of days!

I do not promote the use of SEO marketing and promotion companies, although some people may chose to use these. All I would say is to be careful with this and look into the plan they have for your site and how much this will cost you.

Search Engine Placement: How SEO Can Benefit Your Business Website

Search Engine Placement: How SEO Can Benefit Your Business Website

Author: CPS
What does SEO stand for? I have heard hundreds of people ramble on about how important SEO is and here I stand clueless about why this acronym is so special. That is why I took it upon myself to figure what the madness was all about. Wikipedia defines SEO, search engine optimization, as the process of improving the visibility of a website or web page in search engines. I know what you are thinking and that is what I thought to. I just spent all this money on designing a website. Of course search engines will spot out my site. It is unique, functional and new to the internet right? No, that is not what is going to get your site viewed. I have found that in order to get traffic to any site they need to invest in SEO. Search engine placement is the key in getting people to visit any site. It is like the newspaper, if your article is going to get read your headline must be on the front page.
Search engine placement is an internet marketing mystery. It matters that your website is functional and well designed only after you have the traffic visiting it. In order to get traffic to your website you need to be ranked well within search engines. Take this for example: search Toy Stores in Sockville, Michigan where there is one right down the street. It doesn’t come up on the first page of the search. After scrolling through three pages you finally find them. How many people when searching something on the web look past the first page of search results? If you didn’t know there was a toy store just down the street it would have never found because you wouldn’t have continued looking past the first page. The first page lists five toy stores in the area. Those toy stores have obviously done SEO and when their websites is found it is functional and easy to order from. They will get your order. SEO helps guide the customer to your website.
SEO is to the internet what the yellow pages are to the phone book. Five years ago when you needed a furnace repair man you looked in the yellow pages under furnace repair. You would call the first few that were listed or the one with the biggest graphics and they would get your business. The same is true today on the internet. You search out furnace repair for your area. After viewing the first page of listings it gives you five furnace repair shops in your area. You visit their websites and are attracted to the attention to detail in one site. You choose to call them over the others because of it. You haven’t even searched the next two pages all with reliable furnace repair shops but because they didn’t immediately come up catching your eye they will not get your business.
The above example is exactly why SEO is the buzz right now. For years we have heard how important it is to have a website that is easy to use and delightful to look at. Now that isn’t all that is needed. You have to get people to your site and search engine placement is going to get the traffic you are looking for. Make sure when you have your company’s website designed that you speak with them regarding SEO. It is the only way you will maximize the traffic to your site. Let’s be honest that is the reason you have spent all that money on the functional and well designed website in the first place.

Facts about SEO in 2011

Facts about SEO in 2011

Author: Jara
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) will continue to be a big part of writing as long as search engines continue to be so popular. It’s a never ending dance trying to balance writing articles that readers will enjoy as well as the search engines. There are some things that you need to know about SEO in order to be successful in 2011.

  • Social is Giving Search a Run for Its Money

The last couple of years anyone who has dabbled in writing for money online will understand the control search engines have had over writers. Traffic is the most important thing to anyone who writes for money online and it seemed at one point writers were willing to sell their souls to be ranked number one for their keywords. The result was a flood of writing that was crafted to please spiders and robots instead of humans.
But there is a new kid on the block that promises to break up the reign of search engines: social media. I’m not saying that you should just through SEO out the window. Search will still give writers the most traffic, but maybe it’s time we prepare to change our writing styles again just like we did when Google blow up. Facebook has recently passed Google to become the most visited site in the world, and at the moment Facebook is said to be worth around $50 billion. As social media continues to mature articles built only for robots just won’t cut it anymore.

  • There’s Enough Room for all of us

A lot of young writers have the fear that the internet is just getting to saturated. They believe that it is near impossible to make money online because there are just so many people doing the same thing. I’d have to respectfully say, that is ludicrous. That’s the beauty about the internet: there is no such thing as monopolies or over saturation. Consider the fact that new niches are born each and every day. The only thing holding us back from making money online is our own imagination.

  • Backlinks Are Still King

I get the question often “How can I get my blog on the first page of Google?” If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard that question… I’d be writing this from my private jet as I fly to my private yacht on my private island. But I digress. I have been preaching the same message now for years and it will still hold true in 2011, if you want to get your site to rank well then get backlinks. Of course, other “gurus” and “experts” have whole eBooks on what it takes to get ranked and no doubt some of their advice works. But nothing has shown to be even as close to effective as backlinks are.
2011 is the year of the rabbit according to the Chinese Zodiac. I’m not sure how that affects article writing, blogging, freelance writing, etc. but I do know that 2011 will be much of the same SEOwise. However, keep an eye on social media. It has the potential to really change the whole writing scene as writing writers try to tap into its explosive viralness.

How to Add RSS Feeds in Five Minutes or Less?

How to Add RSS Feeds in Five Minutes or Less?

Author: Kit Elliott
I’m here to teach you about how RSS Feeds can boost traffic for your website. You may have heard of it, but I guarantee you are not harnessing the full power of the tool. RSS Feeds are very hot, and the marketing pro’s are getting their websites listed in Google within 2 to 3 days.

  • What is an RSS Feed?

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication.” Think of RSS this way: Whenever a writer who belongs to a syndicate writes a column, they don’t just write it for their local paper, every article goes up on the newswire and any paper who belongs to the syndicate can reprint it.
First, you have to download an RSS Reader, a program that combines all the news online in one place. You can download a reader for free at www.RssReader.com. Once you’ve downloaded a reader, you can click any topic that suits your need, and only those topics will be delivered right to you..

  • Why would I put RSS on my website?

An RSS feed can be thought of like this. Let’s take five news sources (Yahoo, MSN, CNN, ESPN, FOX). An RSS reader would scan all five news sources and take each headline and create a summary of the article. Now, you can actually sort the news stories and have only the ones you are interested in delivered right to your website from all five news sources. Search Engines are crawling websites and looking for fresh content. If you have an RSS Feed, you are getting up to the minute news stories. These constantly change whenever a new story comes out. The Search Engines will give you a higher Page Rank because it thinks your page is updated on a regular basis.

  • How do I add one to my website?

I tried an RSS Feed for the first time, and it took less than five minutes. Here’s what it looks like:
Bush Celebrates Shuttle’s Launch (AP) NASA sends shuttle back into space after long pause (Reuters) Shuttle Discovery Blasts Into Orbit (AP) NASA’s aging workhorse returns to space (AFP) NASA Returns to Flight as Discovery Reaches Orbit (SPACE.com / LiveScience.com)
As you can see, this is my very first RSS Feed. All the news stories within the last hour regarding the shuttle launch are now listed for me and my visitors to read. Guess what? It took less than 5 minutes, and I instantly have an RSS Feed.

  • Why do I need one?

Search Engines are crawling your site and if you are not providing quality, up to the minute content then you are getting placed further down the rankings. Your competition who has this information is getting FREE advertising from the Search Engines who are placing their page 1st or 2nd when users search for a particular keyword.

  • How do I put an RSS Feed on my site?

You can now place an RSS Feed on your website in THREE easy steps.
• Step 1: Search for topics that you are currently interested in (use Yahoo).
When you see an orange RSS or XML box like the one above, you know that article is compatible with a feed. Copy the URL of the webpage.
• Step 2: Go to http://www.feeddigest.com and paste the URL in the digest for them to create a two line code for your webpage. You can also copy and paste the long page of code if you understand programming.
• Step 3: In Frontpage, Go to Insert – a web component – html markup and paste the two or three line script that RSS Digest gave you. Check it out! Your first RSS Feed! Try it yourself right now, create your first RSS feed in under five minutes, FREE! The only way you can truly learn about them is for you to JUMP in FEET FIRST!
